INTER MILAN have moved ahead of Tottenham in the race to sign Bordeaux attacker Malcom, according to reports.

Arsenal were also hot on his trail in January after Spurs had held talks with the French side about the exciting Brazilian.

Malcom, who was not part of his countries World Cup campaign scored 12 goals with seven assists last season.

German giants Bayern Munich were closely monitoring his situation while fellow countryman Douglas Costa was on loan at Juventus.

But the Ligue 1 outfit were fighting off relegation at the turn of the year and new boss Gus Poyet was adamant the 21-year-old was going nowhere.

And six wins in their last seven games saw them shoot up the table to finish sixth and now the club’s top brass are prepared to do business.

Tottomercatoweb claim the Italian club have offered £8.8million for an initial loan and the option to purchase him on a permanent deal for a further £26.5m next summer.

Spurs had reopened talks with Bordeaux this month, but Inter’s offer for the Brazilian at the moment is the only one anywhere near their £45million valuation.

If the loan does become permanent next year, the former Corinthians star will pen a five-year contract at the San Siro.

With the interest in Malcom during the January transfer window, Bordeaux were hoping to spark a bidding war for the forward’s signature this summer.
