Mourinho’s mistrust of Luke Shaw, Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian has led to 32-year-old Ashley Young re-establishing himself in the team on the left.
It was Young’s shot that Lewis Dunk deflected into his own net to give United a narrow 1-0 win over Brighton on Saturday.
Young has emerged as a Mourinho favourite but his age counts against him.

So the likes of Tottenham’s Danny Rose, Barcelona’s Jordi Alba, and Ricardo Rodriguez, the AC Milan defender, and Celtic’s Kieran Tierney will come under consideration.
